This 2 day trainer course teaches minimum impact front and backcountry use, skills, and ethics to those working in and using our natural environments and public lands. The 16 contact hour course will be taught by LNT Master Educators, and will be held at our Professor Valley field camp. Desert terrestrial and riparian ecology will be discussed and included in the course curriculum to help develop a deeper understanding for the fragility of the desert ecosystems, and how using LNT principles ethics, concepts, and the seven LNT principles can help to minimize and protect these systems from heavy impact and over use. |
Course starts at 8 am at Professor Valley Field Camp and will include two day hikes one focusing on riparian ecology, ecological concerns, and minimum impact skills, and one focusing on terrestrial ecology, ecological concerns, and minimum impact skills. On completion of the course you will be presented with a trainer certificate, and sent a trainer package. You will join the growing number of LNT trainers committed to help reduce environmental impact through sharing with others the LNT philosophy, ethics, concepts, and principles. Ends 2pm last day. Course fee includes overnight stay and "comfort camping" at secluded Professor Valley Field Camp 45 minutes from Moab near Hwy 128 and the Colorado River. Stay in shared 20 ft. diameter tipis with cots or you may bring your tent for privacy if you choose. Hearty, healthy meals included, lunch first day through lunch second day. Small group instruction. Minimum of 6 and maximum of 15 participants plus staff. |
