Land and River Field Camp Programs: Geology, Water, Plants,
Animals, Human and Cultural History, Hiking, Camping, Rafting
CFI offers the following options for school and youth groups:
- 1. Single Day Hike or River Trips with our naturalist guides, are a perfect educational stop for your group traveling through Southern Utah.
- Hiking trip - $45/person based on 12 min and 40 max from school
- River trip - $60/person - based on 15 min and 19 max from school
- River trip - $55/person - based on 20 min and 40 max from school

- 2. Multi-Day Programs run from 3 to 7 days
- A. Field Camp Land-based outdoor school programs in Professor Valley (early April through early June and mid August through mid October)
- or in the La Sal Mountains (mid-June through early October)

- 4 nights with 1 day river trip $420/person based on 15-19 from school and $400/person based on 20-40 from school with school providing transport for river trip.
Maximum at Professor Valley Field Camp 40 from school.
Maximum at La Sal Base Camp is 22 from school.
- 2 nights $240/person based on 15-19 from school and $220/person based on 20-40 from school.
Maximum at Professor Valley Field Camp 40 from school.
Maximum at La Sal Base Camp is 22 from school. For two adjacent groups, fees reduced 10% in addition to any other discounts that may apply.
- B.
River Expeditions.. Colorado, San Juan, Dolores, Green Rivers.
- 2 to 6 nights, $330-$750/person based on 12 minimum and various maximum group sizes depending on stretch of river.
- C. Field Camp + River Combination
- 5 nights $600/student (3 nights at camp, 2 nights river) based on 20 minimum and 40 maximum from school. ($660/person for 15-19 in group.)
- 3. Travel Packages
- Fly or take the train! See options for starting in Salt Lake City, Grand Junction, CO or Bluff, UT. Includes ground transport and pre/post trip motel or campground stays. See TRAVEL INFO link at the top of this page to link to MORE helpful information on how to reach us.
- 4. Field Camp Rental
- Use as base for your own retreat or workshop, enjoy a private secluded setting accommodating up to 50 people on weekends spring and fall. Min 2 night stay.

- Classroom and Cook Yurts, Tipis with cots, dining facilities and kitchen. CFI staff provide meals, site management and naturalist orientation to the area and either an evening program or two hour guided nature hike.
