We offer certification courses for guides, outdoor professionals, and and others who want to deepen their skills
Canyonlands Field Institute offers Wilderness Advanced First Aid, WFR/WAFA Recert, and River Rescue courses for tour guides, rangers and backcountry guides, outdoor educators and other professionals who work outdoors; but are open to the public.

Wilderness Medicine Institute/NOLS: Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) to Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Bridge and WFR Recertification Courses
Because enrollment is limited, these programs fill very quickly. Lodging and meals are on your own. On successful completion of the course, you’ll receive two-year certification including CPR. Contact Wilderness Medicine Institute directly for information about schedule and location for full WFR and EMT classes and about recertifying from another provider. Deposits are non-refundable unless we cancel the course; final payment is due 30 days prior to the course and not refundable after the 30-day deadline.
