Planning your private custom Canyonlands trips can be complicated. We specialize in custom river or land tours and we are experienced naturalist  guides. We’re not your average commercial outfitter. As an outdoor education nonprofit with a dedicated interest in the natural and cultural worlds around us, we create unique and unforgettable outdoor experiences. We customize your trip or retreat to fit your group or family’s interests and dates. CFI’s private custom Canyonlands trips include exciting whitewater river trips through Westwater Canyon on the Colorado River, and scenic multi-day float trips on the Green, Colorado, Upper and Lower San Juan River Canyon. We also offer a Custom Day River Tour on the Colorado River “Daily” starting just outside of Moab with as little as two weeks notice.

For hiking and land-based  private custom Canyonlands trips, we have tours that take you to places not readily accessible on your own or with any other outfitter. We offer hiking trips at the world famous Range Creek archeological site in east-central Utah that includes overnight camping. We can also plan a Moab area hotel package with daily local site and national park excursions for your group, or you can camp with CFI staff support at our rustic and beautiful Professor Valley Field Camp with tipis and yurts.

For one day private custom Canyonlands trips, we require at least 14 days advance notice to plan and confirm your trip. For multi-day land or river trips, it is best to start several months ahead in order to secure government permits, lodging, expert staff and so forth. Our minimum planning lead time is 60 days prior for multiday trips. A non refundable deposit is required to reserve dates and services with balance due 14 days prior for day trips and 30 days prior for  multiday trips. We strongly encourage you to purchase trip insurance.
