If you want a fully PRIVATE and INFORMATIVE trip on the river with your family or friends group, select CFI!  Our Naturalist Guides are the best in the Moab, specializing in Professor Valley/Fisher Towers geology, history, river ecology, animal lore and more. Our guides are particularly great with kids since we work with many youth groups throughout the season. Plus you benefit from knowing your custom trip with CFI is helping to underwrite our environmental education school programs.

Our trip starts and ends in Moab (either at CFI, 1320 S. Highway 191 headquarters OR we can meet your group at your hotel in town. ) Fees includes snacks, a delicious lunch and transportation and government fees. We usually run “paddle boats” so all can participate but can put a mix of oar and paddle powered boats on the water. We include inflatable kayaks at your choice,  June through mid September.

Please note, we do not offer custom half day river trips. Please contact the many wonderful “daily” outfitters in Moab for that service.
Two weeks notice needed to plan custom one day trips. Maximum group size is 40. If you have a larger group, we can run two simultaneous trips.
DEPOSIT: $100 non-refundable group reservation deposit applies to total fee.
FULL PAYMENT: non-refundable due 14 days prior.

Raft the ‘Moab Daily’ Section of the Colorado River on a private custom trip with our Naturalist Guides!

CFI provides a custom trip for your group or family with a unique educational twist. Enjoy a more intimate rafting experience while learning about the area.

We use paddle boats and inflatable kayaks (after June) so you are hands-on while we guide you through the fun, mild Class I-II rapids. You will learn about the Colorado River and the stunning Richardson Amphitheater, the largest open space on the Colorado River in Utah.

We supply all the gear you’ll need and serve up a delicious gourmet lunch or dinner that is beyond just your average “sandwich spread.” We believe in supporting local growers and use organic foods as much as possible.

Starting from your lodging, we will pick you up in our CFI vehicles at 9:00 a.m. We will launch near the Fisher Towers and arrive at our takeout late afternoon and return to town and your lodge by 5:00 p.m. We can adjust this schedule for a Sunset Float/picnic dinner (1 p.m. to 8 p.m.) if you prefer.

Families are welcome (minimum of 6 years of age.) Our guides are great with kids as they teach outdoor school most of the year!
